Mandatory Photoluminescent Signs

Although there is no UK law or British Standard that stipulates that fire safety signs should be made from photoluminescent materials, the safety benefits are enormous. If there is little or no emergency lighting in place when a fire occurs, or if the fire results in a partial or complete power failure, then photoluminescent signs can help people find their way out of a burning building or help guide them to the nearest firefighting equipment.
